QQI Establishment

On 6 November 2012, FETAC completed its amalgamation with HETAC, NQAI and IUQB and a new integrated agency, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), was established. FETAC ,HETAC and the NQAI are now dissolved. The new agency will continue to provide continuity of service as it evolves. QQI will bring any changes and updates to your attention over the coming weeks on its website www.qqi.ie.


 

Corporate

From June 2010 until the establishment of Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) on 6 November 2012, FETAC made awards at levels 1 to 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). These awards are now made by QQI.

FETAC's mission was to make quality assured awards in accordance with national standards within the national framework, creating opportunities for all learners in further education and training to have their achievements recognised and providing access to systematic progression pathways.

FETAC corporate values included Quality, Valuing learning, Innovation, Partnership and Simplicity. 

FETAC maintained a high standard of corporate governance in order to deliver it's mission consistent with it's values. The Council had a range of sub committees including an Audit Committee with responsibility for oversight of the corporate governance framework. 

Internal and external evaluation, systematic planning and project management, and internal quality management processes enabled focus on continuous improvement. FETAC achieved ISO 9001;2000 certification in recognition of systematic implementation of quality business processes.

The Code of Business Conduct covered all the activities of the Council for both members and employees and demonstrated that the Council conducted all its business in a manner which was impartial and based on sound ethical principle. View the Code of Business Conduct.

FETAC staff were drawn from public and private sector, from industry and the education and training sectors.
